Renewable Energies
Many of the homes we build are situated in locations where the only way to get power is to produce it yourself. We have included both solar electric panels and wind generators to produce electricity. We have also included solar thermal collectors which uses the sun's heat energy into heated water to heat both the home and it's domestic water.

We use off-grid experts to size, design and install these systems in our homes. We also use an electrician well versed in off-grid systems as well as non-conventional construction.
Pictured above, is a cordwood home with 4 solar panels, in a system designed by WesCrafts Alternative Energy Systems in Bancroft.
Here's a wind generator being raised into position by Generation Solar of Peterborough.
Here's my electrician, Phil, of S.O.S. Electrical with his baby, a dual inverter system, for 240V with a 16 battery bank. It looks deceptively simple, but that's a credit to Phil's craftsmanship.
